Motherhood is a way of life

Motherhood is a way of life

So I have been reading a lot of mom quotes and articles lately and realised people tend to glorify the sacrifices a mother makes for her family and her child.

Recently I read “ Behind every dressed-up kid is a mom who looks like this and that.”

For a brief period, started thinking, Am I selfish for not being one of them?

I do dress up my child but I dress up myself as well. I make sure I take care of myself and do things that make me happy. I take out time for myself and prioritise myself whenever needed.

Because that's what I want my daughter to see and learn.

I want her to keep herself above everything and not worry about what people might say( especially relatives). I have seen her smiling while my husband clicks my pictures, and she smiles at me while I am being clicked, she knows that I enjoy that.

I want her to be herself and be proud of that. I want her to never compare herself and to handle her flaws gracefully. I want her to love herself enough that no societal pressure and no stereotype can bring her confidence down, so yeah I am teaching her that.

To all the mothers out there, feeling bad about taking care of themselves and prioritising themselves at times, Let go of this feeling and be proud of what you are teaching your child.

After all it was the most awaited trip. Travelling to the most romantic and beautiful destination of India which itself prove to be a queen "Mussoorie" Just a month back I was above the clouds. No, not in imagination but in real life. I could literally feel ,"aaj me upar aasman neeche". 2006 m above the ground , the most calm, divine, serene place I have ever visited. Although before reaching to the equanimity state, I also faced  an almost 2 hours horrible road show. It was almost 12am at night, we started from Dehradun to Mussoorie after having a cup of tea which is mandatory for me and my family. The twists and turns of the roads were scaring ...

My choice

My Choice in Life Dear Society, Let me make my own choice without being judged! Being a part of indian society, I have very well experienced all the discrimination  almost every girl faces, when she takes her decision which are not acceptable for the society she lives in. May it be love, career, dress, outings or male friends!!    If she chooses her life partner, she is judged on her character. People talk about her values. If she chooses her career over marriage, then judged on not being a family person! If she has more male friends or she likes partying, then judged as being a girl of low morals! This is heights! Why don't people understand that what she is doing is her choice and nobody has any right to comment on the way she wants to live! A very simple question comes to my mind for all such people who without knowing the person criticises on her way of living, " Are you ready to live your life the way she wants"? No!! Then why should she! She is living to m...
